The Las Vegas Euchreplayers Association
About the Las Vegas Euchreplayers Association:
The Las Vegas Euchreplayers Association is a non- profit group that promotes the growth of a friendly card game (Euchre) in the Las Vegas valley.
We organize tournaments that assemble at specified taverns in Las Vegas. Although a player may join our Association by paying an annual membership fee, it is not required in order to participate in the large majority of our tournaments.
At the current time, we operate two round-robin tournaments rules a month on Thursday nights and one partners tournament rules each month on a Saturday night. Anyone of legal drinking age who has $15 and the ability to play their own cards is welcome to join in.
Five or six rounds are played in both types of tournaments (which average around 3 hours in length). We work hard to ensure that our game has the "at-home" feel.
In the round-robin tournaments, players rotate every round. The top individual players whose teams score the most points, win most of the buy-in money (our format). In order to break ties, the player who has the least amount of points scored against him finishes higher.
In the partners tournament, the players stay with the same partner throughout the tourney. At the end of five rounds, the teams who finish 2nd and 3rd have a sudden-death playoff game in which the winner goes on to play the 1st place team. The winner and loser of the final game split the entire pot 70/30.
Our players are requested not to smoke at the table during a game, but our venue is usually held in a smoke-friendly tavern. In order to participate in one of our tournaments, a player should expect cigarette smoke to be present unless otherwise stated.
